Valentine’s Day is a day which you don’t have to panic if you are a singleton. It’s a day to celebrate your closest friends, family members and yes, even that special someone you have your eye on.
This Valentine’s Day why not give that someone special a gift that is interesting, different and is an environmentally friendly option?
In a recent study of 8 million people across 7 countries it showed that having plants in your house will increase your lifespan “for every 10% increase in vegetation that’s within 1,600 feet of your home, your probability (of death) drops by 4%.’’ The study was published in collaboration with The World Health Organisation.
Just see the reaction to touching the plant in the video below. It also has lovely pink flowers to make this a great gift this February.
This plant also reacts to light. It closes during darkness and reopens during daylight. Plants that react to touch, light and darkness are said to react this way to ward off predators. Predators such as grasshoppers are more likely to eat the still plants than these reactive plants.
Why not include saucy handwritten notes to your partner like, “This plant may be called ‘Touch Me Not’ but you have my permission to touch me anywhere”
If you’re getting this for a friend or family member why not leave a different note “I know, you’ve never been a morning person and now you’ll have a roommate that won’t eat all your food and keeps the same schedule as you”
And that not it, the plant also has health benefits to it as well. If your Valentine's interest ‘arrives’ too early, you can use it to treat premature ejaculation. Or if you’ve eaten too much chocolate use this plant to help with indigestion.
